"Through my relationship with the Hockey Hall of Fame and the many NHL Hockey Legends I have been fortunate enough to work with, I have had access to and have extensively researched through many Hockey artifact and archives collections. From those opportunities, I have used the vintage game-used gloves, skates, sticks and pucks from numerous NHL legends as reference and inspiration for "The Vintage Hockey Collection" paintings - including actual Vintage game-used equipment worn and used by: Ken Dryden, Johnny Bower, Vladislav Tretiak, Tony Esposito, Bernie Parent, etc.
I wanted to capture the the essence of the 1960's and 1970's era of hockey through detailed depictions of the classic leather gloves, skates, wooden hockey sticks, and equipment of the time. I have always been fascinated by the heritage and history of the sport, as well as the textures and feel of the old and worn equipment, and wanted to create a Series of paintings dedicated to this Classic Era in hockey. These paintings are truly reminiscent of my childhood hockey memories and I hope that they bring back many of the same nostalgic feelings to others."
